Saken's Poetry Empty
PostSubject: Saken's Poetry   Saken's Poetry Icon_minitimeTue Feb 17, 2009 5:55 am

Since there was no real designated area for poetry... here I go!

(Pardon all typos if you will, I hardly ever run any form of spell check other then a quick skim of my eyes.)

---Bells---

A tune to hear before you die
is such a tune to make you cry.
From shattered ears
or heightened fears,
my hands wield the hammer
to erupt others in clamor.
No string ever plucked
nor director instruct'd
the vivid tones
when I strike their bones.
Through the heavens or hells
I forge my will when I strike my bells.

---One Day---

Maybe one day we'll share something,
something so much more
precious and valuable
then our own lives.
This is the bond of friendship
that blossoms like a flower
growing from the deep roots
entwined between our two hearts.
I find that day has passed,
call love blind
but I knew at first sight
that it's so easy to find hope and security
invested within those beautiful eyes,
like portals to your heart and soul,
I saw true beauty
aesthetically pieced together
bit by bit
to create perfection within a human vessel.
It took some time
to get under your skin
so you'll never forget me
and when one day came
we kissed like two lovers would.

---Disgorging The Exhumed---

The stomach churns like the grinding gears
that turn and turn to fuel the war.
It swells and shrinks just like the sea
whose waters swallow all who float upon its jagged surface.
From the depths where one's constricted
they writhe and twist in beautiful agony
and like the pernicious waters that boil over
out the fork tongued mouth
acid burns holes through blistered lips
and the rotted teeth climb forward.
Like gore fed monsters they gnaw off fingers
And bury themselves in the bleeding sword.

---Just Like The Setting Sun---

Sit there silent, take me on
your stare, look right through me,
you know I'm there, you know I'm there!
Just like the setting sun...
I've lost your care.

Hold me in your heart
just as long as you can
count the seconds
because the clockhand points to the stars
and those stars don't fake their love,
don't fake your love!

Sit there silent, take me on
your stare, your look abhors me,
you know I care, you know I care!
Just like the setting sun...
you're no longer there.

---Dead Man's Thoughts---

Digging through, so tedious,
each fiber can set the whole thing off.
These strands of life
and these strands of fate,
what gives you life can be so soft,
don't want to be late, have to catch this
like a cold that never goes away.
but this time there is a cure
but to this fix
I boast to be the sick
who catches the tongue of a worm with a diamond edge
and knows just how far to take it,
just how far to push the envelope
until it pushes back.
"Let the poor man pray."
I am this sickness,
the one inside
no matter how sharp these nails, I've pryed
through my chauldren a hundred times,
and I see it watching me with eyes
of disgust, a look of fear painted
on its face, so foul and tainted.
Nearly half alive and those I've tried
have all failed in vain,
I wonder from down below, why?
All the faces hold such pain,
the sky beams through,
it's cloudy climes search through me,
lighting up this adjusted smile
and for a little while
I lived this fantasy,
for I who thought my life had run
figured out that in the end
it was I who was done.

---Hunted Becomes The Wolf---

Don't you pretend
that I'm not alive,
my bones never ache
unless your nearby.
I've seen the countless
that you've left behind,
don't tell me now
that your heart is refined.
Don't hustle me now
you can't shake a penny from the poor,
take your blemished words
you are the one that I truly abhor.
Your life is its own chaos
like a song without a tune,
I'll inject a serum
to your lies I'll be immune.
I can see the buzzards circle
high in the winds flying,
though my bones still ache
your strength will be dying.
No longer can you lift the handle
your dagger is rusted through,
brittle like your will
and weak like you.
Here comes the day
that the hunted becomes the wolf,
I'll cast down your heart
into the deepest darkest gulf.

---With Only The Worms---

So delirious inside these eyes so mysterious
which each twinkle in my eyes
I search the air for where the cries
come from, though past and deceased
I still search out the one without release;
the one out there whose race is run
and is sitting out there rotting under the sun
whose father never loved him
and never showed that he cared,
now lying face down mutilated into disrepair;
whose joy came despair
never left him alone,
that one so guile
was only meant to permeate the air for just a little while,
but now the whole world that I see from those pearly whites
can see the brutality that stained the new tile;
he never meant it and he never could stop after there was no smile.
It takes more than just a blow to the face
to stem all the anger to some other place,
it took more than those guilty pleasures of cutting his son in two
to make sure that that when you looked at him that it wasn't you
or someone that you knew,
it was what he dreamed for
wide-eyed up and awake,
he just needed more
when lives were at stake
but he made no mistake
with the teeth that he tore
from the mouth that always adored
the father in the shadows,
the one we do not know,
only when they found the body
did they see how low he could go.
He created life and he took it away,
so many years now gone in one fateful day;
the same he dismembered his son
and left him face down in the sun
with only the worms to play.

---Blue Heart---

Like a bayonet charge through my heart,
you left me standing there
though never left apart.
Your spirit lives within me,
a hole inside my heart
nestled down inside
though we were never left apart.
Now watch the sky cave in
like a guilty conscious
too often reminded
of the shady choices it has made.
Incurably we live
and incurably we die,
not a day goes by that I
sit down staring myself down in the mirror
eye to eye and kill myself over and over.
It's nothing I'm too proud to say,
not something I'd like to carry with me every day,
but these bags under my eyes
are self-evidence to the days that I had cried;
never once did I look back on those weeks,
never once but once today.
If leaving was the answer
then what was the question
that left me here holding nothing but a heart,
which you never loved it once
never once from the start.
Take a simple word like goodbye
and shake your head you never lied;
you don't realize all of my hurt and pain
but in the end it all came down to what was done in vain.
Everything is all the same
bitter words become less refrained
and I've seen it like a diamond in the sky,
the very same star I wished upon for you
and that night my heart never seemed so blue.

---Dreams Behind Horizons---

As the bright lights fade
into the distance outstretched,
horizons embellished with
our dreams that come tagging along.
We're driving this one
into the calling ocean,
let the waves carry us like
Poseidon's chariot into the depths.
I can feel this and I'm sure
that you can feel this too,
let each moment pass over us
and heal our aching souls.
We've been through more than
others can describe in a life time,
and as the water evaporates to words on the pages
let the story of our life be told.
As the water cascades off our bodies
and sand castles rise in our wake,
watch the falling stars crash in the
horizon with our dreams just behind us.

---Perpetual Dreams Of Love---

Like the whisper in the wind
hollowing out those sacered walls
where you and I once stood,
we silently trace back those roots
to where our love once circulated
in those littered rooms,
where a whisper in the wind
may turn a page to see the finger tips
of the suns' saffron rays
caress its ill-fed weathered scriptures.

The pulse reflecting off the dilated
sleepless umber eyes,
the ones I had always adored
in the cover of twlights' resonating serenity
that sounded like bats far overhead
and crickets chirping in the tall dew-slicked grass;
which was all the more pleasant as our bare legs crossed through,
traversed right on through to our special place
right past our sunescent home upon the hill,
the one in all those fairytales we used to belive in.

Time has gone and past
yet we still dwindle on the ups and downs
that our journey of love had taken us;
we still remember who we think started it all
or ended it all as well,
but when I recollect what we once had
and see that same reflection
silently staring back at us in the pond,
the picturesque couple
who could never find a hardship in the world
only elated times
and much sought after
perfection,
yet we found it.

As the ripple of pain
cast its cruel finger into the
flawless reflection of what we shared
and tore us apart at the sight of such an
aberration before us,
such a distorted view of what our love portrayed
and here it is now that we both look back,
still lost in a dream that had come true
but never lasted like those fairy tales had intended;
was it that we never believed
or were too naive to
fully understand what was to become of us,
what was to become of love
and what was to give birth
to a new feeling of hurt?

If ever a perfect ending for a
dream or fairytale alike,
I'd have to say the best ending would be none at all,
only a continuation of what was and always should've been
radiating smiles and reverberating laughs
that still haunt us in our perpetual dreams of love.

Very good, though some are a bit hard to read. You use blank versing, that's fine, but I can't seem to find the 'beat' to the poem, if you catch my meaning. The syllables are far from the same in situations, while in others, they commune very well and create a worthy piece of poetry.

I don't know if that is what you want, but I think most would prefer to read a poem where they can read it and appreciate it. It's quite difficult to read at the moment.

Other then that, it's great. I didn't know you were a poet.

Personally, I find this 'perfect' in a sence. Unlike Lex here.. I can 'read' it well. Like he stated, there is a good beat to it, and flows like water on rocks. Mr. Saken, you are a poet and you know it! (See that? I made my own rhyme Razz)
